Do I have to rack my bike the night before?
Racking of bikes is the morning of the event beginning at 5:00am. There is no racking the night before.

Where do I park the day of the race?
Parking on Saturday is in a lot within a short walk to the starting area, look for the lighted sign on Highway 17N just beyond the KOA Campgrounds. You cannot access the parking area from 17S so you will need to make a u-turn just after the campground to enter the parking area. There will police at the parking lot to direct you!! No cars will be allowed into the Campground on race day!

Can we wear wetsuits? Are any available for rent?
To date, wetsuits are approved. For any changes check the SetUp Event website. Last minute changes will be posted at the campgrounds the day before the race! Wetsuits are still available for rent from:

What will you have at the bike aid stations?
There will be water at all three stations and Heed at the third. Please do our volunteers and the environment a huge favor by dropping bottles BEFORE the "End of Drop Zone" sign. Keep in mind that littering on the bike course will result in a penalty courtesy of our USAT officials and we will have designated volunteers writing down numbers of athletes who litter beyond the "Drop Zone"signed area.

What will you have at the run aid stations?
  • Water and Hammer Heed
  • Hamer Gel and Electrolyte capsules
  • Pretzels and other salty snacks
  • Orange Slices

We ask that all participants deposit all their trash at the trash containers located at/near the aid stations. Please do our volunteers a favor and make sure you don't throw trash along the run course. Our ability to hold this race is contingent upon how clean we leave the area following the race. Littering on the run course will result in a penalty from the USAT officials.

Are there really alligators in the lake? What are you doing to secure our safety?
Yes, there have been sighting of alligators in the past. They are indigenous to the Lowcountry. Beginning Monday, April 1st, Ron Russell of GatorGetters, LLC with the support of DNR, will be surveying the entire lake regularly until race day and will remove, NOT KILL, any alligators that may pose a threat to humans. DNR has approved as many permits as needed to guarantee your safety.
